Both the environment and health and wellness are hot topics and as responsible employers we need to play our part in enabling employees where we can.
It’s not all the time that I point people to guidance published by civil servants, often because the guidance is not always the easiest to read.
However, on 13 June 209, the Department for Transport published an updated version of their ‘Cycle to Work Scheme Guidance for Employers’. Entitled ‘Moving Britain Ahead’, this updated guidance primarily focuses on the provision of these schemes via salary sacrifice. Plus, it has been developed in collaboration with HM Treasury, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Whilst announcements from the Department for Transport are, generally, for England only, certainly in respect of roads, this guidance applies UK-wide for employers. What’s more, it is actually really good guidance, with lots of external links and legislative references.
