Cintra were honoured at the recent CIPD North East Awards ceremony at the prestigious Newcastle / Gateshead Hilton Hotel.

Before an audience of 450 people which included some of the Region’s biggest and best known companies, Cintra came within a whisker of beating all the odds, by almost taking the Developing People Award, eventually finishing a very close second to Home Housing.

Judging panel member and CIPD Chair in the Region Tony Leather, told Cintra CEO Carsten Staehr that our nomination had been very impressive, and particularly considering we were up against much bigger and well-resourced competition and that we almost won it, with the panel chair giving it to Home Housing by the smallest of margins.

Award Criteria:

  • Open to all companies and organisations within the North East of England.
  • Applies to any action/programme/scheme developing people in the last two years.
  • Submission describes the process, including difficulties overcome and innovations in approach.
  • Evaluation process demonstrates either learning and development or career progress.

Cintra were also Sponsors of the HR Excellence through Innovation and Technology Award, which Carsten took great pleasure in presenting to Patrick Love, General Manager of Allied Bakeries’ Gateshead plant for their outstanding in-house developed employee self-service safety management & reporting tool.
