Once again a number of Cintra HR & Payroll Services employees stepped out to do the 5km run along Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside. This year sporting Neon Orange over twenty Cintra employees hit the streets of Newcastle, managing to raise over £1,000 for this much needed cause.
The Sunshine Fund was established in 1923 by King George V on his visit to Tyneside to commemorate the opening of The Tyne Bridge, during which he paid for some of the underprivileged children of the region to have a day at the seaside.
This amazing charity has followers from all walks of life including Ant & Dec, Tim Healy, Steve Cram and of course, ourselves at Cintra HR & Payroll Services. We hold their amazing efforts and work very close to our hearts. The Sunshine Fund was adopted by the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, and has raised many thousands of pounds for sick and underprivileged children in the North East.
Our new star performer was Alastair Green, with an unbelievable time of 20 minutes and 23 seconds! Smashing Lorenzo’s previous best of 24 minutes. However, Peter Lerdrup our new sales manager was hot on his heels with another fantastic time of 20 minutes and 39 seconds. With only 16 second’s difference, Peter is already training for next year’s race!
For the first time ever, Suzanne our Operations Director did not finish in last place! Her 43 minutes and 7 seconds was no match for our very own Teresa Bacon’s final time, who finished with the fantastic time of 63 minutes and 20 seconds, making sure Cintra’s long standing tradition of last place is still intact. Congratulations guys!
Credit should go to everyone who took part, particularly the families and children of some of our staff who joined us in raising money for this extremely good cause and in the process, put the rest of us to shame with their athletic ability.
Any Cintra client’s wishing to make a donation should contact our CEO Carsten Staehr on 0191 478 7000. All contributions, no matter how small will be gratefully received.
