Cintra were once again delighted to team up with the North East Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development as an award sponsor for The North East of England CIPD HR&D Awards. Designed to recognize the region’s top companies and employees and celebrate those people who have gone that extra mile in recruitment and training, the Awards culminated in a glittering ceremony at the NewcastleGateshead Hilton.

Regional stalwart, Cintra have supported the awards since their inception and is delighted to have helped the North East CIPD set the standard on a national basis, with other regions now following suit with their version of the awards.

With its own heritage of technological innovation, Cintra were delighted to sponsor the ‘Innovation in Social Media or Technology’ Award.  Commenting on Cintra’s involvement, CEO Carsten Staehr said: “The North East has an enviable history of innovation.  From railways and steam, through to electricity and modern technologies, this region has always punched far above its weight. Fighting off stiff competition, regional manufacturing company, Roman lifted the trophy for their innovative use of social media in their ‘Project 252’.  David Osborne, MD of Roman was delighted with the win: “Project 252 was a fantastic success for us as a business. It brought employees together, helped build relationships with customers and suppliers, and gave a real insight to all our followers, into Roman as a business. It highlighted the fact we are a British manufacturer, along with how we insource rather than outsource as a business. There are so many different aspects to Roman as a business and communicating what each different department does on a daily basis is not always easy. Project 252 helped us break down these barriers. This award is the icing on the cake for us and we are delighted that Project 252 has been recognised as such an innovative success.”
