As current holders of the ‘Payroll Software Provider of the Year Award’, we at Cintra HR & Payroll Services are well aware of the positive impact that such an award can have on a company or individual.
To this end, we were once again very proud to be associated with this year’s 2nd Annual CIPD North East branch awards dinner, held earlier this week at Newcastle’s Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel, and as fervent advocates of top to bottom personal development, we are even prouder to have sponsored the ‘Developing People’ Award.
Hosted by the BBC’s Wendy Gibson and with entertainment provided by Actor and Comedian Brendan Healy, this year’s awards ceremony built on the success of last year’s inaugural event and a great time was had by all.
With 18 nominations, the Developing People Award was easily the most hotly contested category at this year’s ceremony and gave the judging panel a very difficult task in attempting to pick a winner, however there can be only one and we were very pleased to be able to present the award to Gentoo Housing (formerly Sunderland Housing Association) for their commitment to developing their staff.
Highly commended in the Developing People category were EDF Energy and Northumbrian Water, who both submitted compelling and impressive cases for winning this award, but were just edged by Gentoo’s outstanding nomination.
On a general note, it is especially pleasing to witness the strengthening of the CIPD North East branch’s profile in the region, as this will only serve to boost the region’s reputation as an area that can offer companies a skilled, loyal and a stable workforce. These major, but often overlooked regional assets, are something that we at Cintra recognise as a major factor in our own continuing success
