Employees from Gateshead based Cintra HR and Payroll Services have been getting in the festive spirit for St Oswald’s Hospice, Newcastle.
Hospice volunteers visited Cintra’s offices to sell tickets for St Oswald’s annual raffle, with a top prize of £3,000. The staff eagerly opened up their purses and wallets to snap the tickets up and support the Hospice, raising a fantastic £155. When Cintra CEO Carsten Staehr heard how well the tickets had sold, he offered to match the total raised, taking it to £310!
Cintra also paid a visit to the Hospice this week, where their sales team got to work decorating the 6ft Christmas tree they donated, to adorn the Hospice reception area. Dressed in festive knitwear, to the sounds of Christmas classics on the stereo, the team got to work to make sure the tree looked it’s best to welcome patients and their families to the Hospice over the holidays.
Sales Supervisor Stacey Conway said: “We were absolutely bowled over by the work of the hospice – it is so much more than end of life care. They work really hard to bring a bit of normality (and fun) to those with life limiting illnesses, helping individuals and their families do many of the things that we all take for granted on a day to day basis. It’s a really great place with a lovely atmosphere. We’re delighted to add to the Christmas festivities.”
Gemma Crabb, St Oswald’s Fundraiser said:
“Cintra have been so supportive of the Hospice. They entered a large team into our Kaleidoscope 5K colour run in July and have really helped us prepare for Christmas by letting us sell raffle tickets in their office and donating and decorating a beautiful tree for our reception.
“We are so grateful for their on-going support and hope to continue working with them in the future.”
