Cintra client, Changing Lives was looking for support to bring festive cheer to vulnerable people this year and Cintra Sales Manager, Paul Tweddle was first in the Cintra office to step up to the plate.
Changing Lives is a national, registered charity which provides specialist support services for 6,000 vulnerable people and their families, every month. Through pioneering and innovative work, they support people to make positive, lasting changes in their lives.
To make sure no-one misses out during the season of goodwill Changing Lives are encouraging businesses and individuals to take part in their Reverse Advent Calendar initiative, which aims to collect and donate vital items for people experiencing extreme hardship in the local community.
It is a simple concept. Get a cardboard box and over 25 days in the run up to Christmas, pop one item a day into the cardboard box, then take it to a Changing Lives collection point to enable them to distribute to vulnerable people in the local community.
Taken by the simplicity of the idea, Paul placed a cardboard box on each floor of the Cintra office and within a few days the boxes were overflowing with gifts. After only five days Paul delivered over 50 gifts and six bags of clothing to the local Changing Lives office.
“I was totally blown away by everyone’s generosity. We contribute to so many charitable initiatives I was amazed by how quickly we surpassed the Changing Lives target. It’s heartening to see that people are so willing to support those less fortunate than themselves. I shouldn’t have been surprised though…we have such a lovely bunch of people here at Cintra!”
