Cintra HR & Payroll gives COCO Charity something to crow about.
HR and Payroll specialists from around the country gathered in Newcastle to hear the latest on major legislative changes affecting the industry this year, and in the process helped Comrades of Children Overseas (COCO) raise enough funds to build a chicken farm!
The Cintra HR & Payroll Services Annual Conference, hosted in Newcastle University’s superb new Business School, brought together industry experts to give Cintra clients the most up to the minute information and guidance possible, but, in true Cintra, fashion took things one step further.
In addition to a thorough presentation covering HR and payroll updates and a humorous (yes humorous!) update from HMRC, delegates were also taught valuable tips and techniques for dealing with stress. Stress(ed) guru, Dave Algeo shared his methods for ‘Stress CPR’ with a very visual demonstration using cabbages, sprouts and cuddly toys!
Cintra CEO, Carsten Staehr outlined its plans for the future and showcased the latest enhancements to Cintra’s award winning flagship product, Cintra iQ. Renowned for their contribution to the community, Carsten also formally launched Cintra’s CSR programme ‘Cintra Cares’ and invited clients to support its efforts to raise funds for COCO’s chicken project: to build and populate a chicken farm at Hoja Secondary School in Africa. COCO CEO Lucy Phillipson said “We are cock-a-hoop with Cintra’s support. In these remote African communities, it is essential that we do all we can to sustain the projects we work on. The chickens at Hoja secondary will be an excellent source of eggs to add nutrition to the childrens’ diets and they will also produce chicks to sell to help support the long term sustainability of the school!”
Delegates included many of Cintra’s clients from around the UK and Europe, including major names, such as key London insurance brokers Hiscox Syndicates, together with many others from the Education, Housing and private sectors.
After a day of in depth presentations which gave delegates much food for thought, the conference ended on a high, with an thought-provoking presentation from the King of Shaves, Will King, who shared his inspirational business journey and the importance of zagging, when others zig!
Chris Tidy of Hiscox Syndicates commented: “Cintra’s conference is a diary highlight for me. The quality of the speakers is first rate: excellent coverage of important issues with much food for thought and a brilliant opportunity to meet other Cintra customers and staff. As a Cintra client I am aware of the amazing charitable initiatives they get involved in and I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to support their latest project.”
