A: Cintra HR & Payroll Services does!

Big hearted Cintra HR & Payroll Services have been at it again. Seldom a week goes by without a worthy cause being acknowledged in the Cintra offices, but a firm favourite is always any event in support of local charity, St. Oswald’s Hospice.

St. Oswald’s Hospice are a North east based charity who provide specialist care for adults, young people and children with life limiting conditions. St. Oswald’s is a self-financing, voluntary organisation and over £7.5 million must be raised each year to ensure that care is available to everyone who needs it.

Cintra are proud to be a loyal and regular supporter of the hospice, helping to raise funds through a variety of activities; the latest being a traditional pub quiz, including an amazing pie and pea supper. Such is the attraction of Cintra’s very own Governess, Alex Watt that the recent quiz, hosted by Cintra, in aid of St. Oswald’s was a complete sell out.

The generosity of Cintra’s clients saw an impressive array of raffle prizes, including a family overnight stay, Kate Spade handbag, tablet, Fortnum & Mason Hamper and Apple TV. Huge thanks go to Kate Spade, Guerilla, Bushmills, Six Degrees, Kew Green Hotels and Softcat.

St. Oswald’s volunteers turned out in force to make sure that the night ran smoothly and that all quiz teams were well looked after. Thanks to additional generous contributions from Cintra, Guerilla and RMT the evening raised an impressive £1,505, taking Cintra’s fundraising total in aid of St. Oswald’s Hospice to almost £8,000.

Siobhan Sargeant, Corporate Fundraiser at St Oswald’s commented: “Without the support of companies like Cintra we couldn’t provide the same high level of care and support we offer to our adults, young adults and children’s services. St Oswald’s needs to raise £7.5m a year to keep our doors open for North East families. That’s why fundraising events are so important to us here! It was such a fun evening too; this quiz was definitely a highlight on our calendar.”

Carsten Staehr, Cintra CEO explains the special relationship Cintra have with the hospice: “Corporate responsibility, social accounting, being a part of the community, whatever you like to call it… at Cintra, helping others is a part of our culture. When we first became involved with St. Oswald’s Hospice, our staff visited the hospice and were overwhelmed, not just by the standard of care provided but by the genuinely remarkable people behind that care. To me their ethos is very similar to ours here at Cintra – they are a caring bunch of people who like to have fun but always put their customers first. We look forward to supporting the great team at St. Oswald’s for many years to come.”
