It’s a busy time of year for the kind hearted man in the big red suit, but he can always rely on the team at Cintra to help him out. This year the festive bunch have got together to support a number of initiatives designed to help those in need across the region, culminating last Friday in Christmas jumper day, in aid of the Sunshine Fund Signed Singers Appeal.
The Sunshine Fund works to enhance the lives of local disabled children and their families through the provision of essential equipment, learning aids and custom built apparatus. Their Signed Singers Appeal is specifically aimed at raising funds to provide a minibus for the Signed Singers, a choir for children with disabilities from Northern Counties School in Newcastle. In the run-up to Christmas they have had to cancel performances because of transport problems and The Sunshine Fund is hoping to be able to provide them with a minibus, which would enable the choir to spread its joy all year round.
The Cintra Santa substitutes are also helping two other very worthy local causes:
Bureau Administrator, Kelly Rayner organised an amazing collection of toys and gifts to support Cash for Kids Mission Christmas: An appeal designed to support the 1 in 3 children living in poverty in the region, who, without the help of generous folk like the staff at Cintra, would wake up without a present to open on Christmas Day. It is estimated that this affects a staggering 45,000 children in the North East. Thanks to the bulging sacks of gifts gathered at Cintra and by others around the region, we hope that that number will now be significantly less.
Fellow Bureau Administrator, Clare Carr also spearheaded a collection of toiletries and handbags to donate to a local Women’s Refuge.
Christmas Jumper Queen, Account Manager Nham Lee said: “Our lovely Cintra colleagues are always happy to support charitable initiatives and I think we have contributed to three wonderful and very worthy causes this year. The generosity and Christmas spirit across the office makes me proud to be a part of the Cintra family. We hope that our contribution adds to a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for all of the people supported by great work of the charities we have tried to help.”
