The Skilled Worker’s visa scheme was launched a year ago on 1 December 2020. This type of visa, accounts for 61% of work-related visas granted by the Home Office, which also saw the largest increase in the number of visas granted which was 57% on previous years.
Who is eligible?
The type of skilled workers that can apply to come to the UK to work under this scheme include scientists, plumbers, architects, butchers, doctors, and bricklayers.
The Home Office has launched an interactive tool which enables employers and applicants to check if vacancies are eligible for a Skilled Worker visa. The eligibility checker can be found on Gov.uk
Following the UK’s exit from the EU in January 2021, the Home Office has made changes to the qualifying rules regarding the immigration points-based system.
