As we mentioned previously, Andrew Thompson of our Bureau department has decided to run 10 marathons in 10 months in memory of his good friend Chris Hills, whom he lost to leukaemia.
Up to now, Andrew has completed four of the ten marathons and all the money raised will be donated to Leukaemia Research and COCO. Pictured above with his legendary pre-race Scotch egg, Andrew has been flying through his marathons but unfortunately Andrew had a hard lesson to learn in the Caythorpe Canter Marathon when he accidently got lost, adding an extra 2 miles to his marathon. Andrew commented “Lessons learned at Caythorpe; it is possible to enjoy a marathon rather than race it, and mile 28 is harder than mile 26 – a lot harder!”
Here at Cintra we love an excuse to raise money for charity so we organised a buffet day on Monday 14th March where members of staff supported the event by bringing in homemade food and charging each employee £2.50 per plate.
Below is an up to date table of Andrew’s completed Marathons. His next one will be on 3rd July at Coniston.
