Unless you have been hiding under a rock or marooned on a desert island for the past few months, you will undoubtedly have turned your attention to the General Data Protection Regulation and its implications for your organisation. In fact most people are, by now, GDPR weary…having had their inboxes flooded with communications asking for permission to stay in touch.

The penalties for a breach of GDPR can be substantial and the implications for those with an HR or payroll remit can be far reaching. Fear not…if you are one of the many switched on organisations using a Cintra product we have done all we can to make compliance as painless as possible.

Cintra has been proactive in its communication with clients, covering the topic at both it’s annual conference and in client newsletters, ensuring that clients had a clear understanding of what would be required. Alongside these regular briefings our crack team of developers have been adapting our software to make sure that the additional processes and requirements are as streamlined as possible – certain functions can now be performed at the touch of a button.

Not every decision regarding data and data deletion is clear cut however, so Cintra also has a dedicated GDPR team, led by our assigned Data Protection Officer and Head of Quality, Sheila Hughes. Sheila and her team have done a fantastic job in making sure that Cintra itself is ready for this new legislation and they will continue to inform, advise and monitor compliance moving forward.

Sheila comments: “Our clients are at the forefront of everything we do and preparation for GDPR compliance has been no different. The truth is that GDPR is a good thing, it is about doing the right thing for our clients and their data, however with significant fines for non-compliance, it is important to make sure that we are rigorous in our approach. Our GDPR team will continue to monitor GDPR as it evolves and we will keep our clients and partners informed throughout this process.”

So as GDPR comes into force today our message to all Cintra clients is…relax, you are in safe hands! But if you do have any concerns or queries our GDPR team are here to help.
