This year here at Cintra we have celebrated our 40th anniversary! Of course we would have liked to mark entering our 5th decade with the traditional party for our colleagues and clients but like many 40 year olds we had to scale things down this year. Cintra has always been a charitable business, and COVID was not going to stop us from marking this milestone in a way that would feel fitting and also help others. With all of this in mind we came up with our Cintra 40th Anniversary Step Challenge in aid of local charity The Chronicle Sunshine Fund.
Cintra’s step challenge
Over the month of May (coincidentally National Walking Month), 22 Cintra employees swapped their dancing shoes for walking shoes and rose the to challenge of walking the equivalent distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End (the most northern and southern parts of the British Isles), a whopping 874 miles (1406.5 km)! After smashing this target in the first 2 weeks they just kept going, and in total our team took 4,008,419 steps (3115km) for charity!
The Chronicle Sunshine Fund provides specialist equipment to children with disabilities, special needs and terminal illnesses and we are so proud to support such a great organisation. The huge success of our challenge meant that a total of £1,000 was raised and we would like to give a massive round of applause to all those that took part and donated.
Watch this space for our next fundraising challenge, and here’s to the next 40 years at Cintra!
