Cintra HR & Payroll Services were delighted to sponsor the BALTIC School Murals Project, which was recently unveiled at a reception at the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art in Gateshead.
The 2021 BALTIC School Murals project was an opportunity for a select group of corporate partners to positively impact five Gateshead secondary school environments by commissioning artists to develop and install a site-specific artwork, supported by open-ended skills-based workshops for pupils.
Since its launch, artists have worked with pupils to brainstorm, develop and produce commemorative pieces they believed would connect with fellow pupils as they go about their daily classes.
Cintra sponsored Heworth Grange where their theme of Love Your Community came to life with artist Theresa Easton alongside Teacher Sarah Kilpark and the 51 fantastic students from Year 7, 10 and 11.
At the reception today, Artists, Head Teachers and Pupils were in attendance from the five participating schools including Whickham School, Kingsmeadow Community School, Cedars School, Heworth Grange and Cardinal Hume and were joined by business partners, Cintra, NORTH, Ward Hadaway; Ryder Architecture and the NBS where a short film outlined the project and unveiled all of the pieces.
“Cintra are delighted to partner with BALTIC Centre for contemporary Art to support Heworth Grange Secondary School pupils create this commemorative mural under the guidance of a professional artist. We hope the project has and will continue to inspire young people to spark creativity, conversation and togetherness through art.”
