Ocado was struggling with an inefficient, time-consuming payroll process which put a large amount of pressure on the internal payroll team. They faced a number of challenges:

  • Single point of failure: this prevented operations from running smoothly during peak payroll periods without the main payroll contact present.
  • Inaccurate data: repetitive data validation made them vulnerable to human-induced errors which had the potential to impact all 1000 members of staff employed by Ocado.
  • Onerous and manual process: involving multiple file exchanges and data input.
  • Long timeline from data supply to cut off.

The solution

  • Enable users to securely upload data, check information, and see the status of payroll directly in a live cloud-based portal, Cintra Cloud.
  • Streamline communication between Ocado and Cintra through in-platform messaging.
  • Create a dedicated line of support at Cintra working in partnership with Ocado to fully understand their operations.
  • Experience an agile implementation process which ensured go live success.
