This year here at Cintra we have celebrated our 40th anniversary! Of course we would have liked to mark entering our 5th decade with the traditional party for our colleagues and clients but like many 40 year olds we had to scale things down this year.
It’s still been a standout period for the business. Alongside celebrating four decades of growth, Cintra has continued to evolve — including a recent brand refresh that reflects who we are today. That momentum has been matched with wider recognition too, with Cintra earning acknowledgment on a national stage for payroll and HR excellence, celebrating continued global growth and success in HR & payroll services, and even setting new internal benchmarks such as a 100% PAS compliance achievement.
We’ve also been proud to celebrate milestones including our recent national recognition for business success and the continued growth of the company.
Cintra has always been a charitable business, and COVID was not going to stop us from marking this milestone in a way that would feel fitting and also help others. With all of this in mind we came up with our Cintra 40th Anniversary Step Challenge in aid of local charity The Chronicle Sunshine Fund.
Cintra’s step challenge
Over the month of May (coincidentally National Walking Month), 22 Cintra employees swapped their dancing shoes for walking shoes and rose the to challenge of walking the equivalent distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End (the most northern and southern parts of the British Isles), a whopping 874 miles (1406.5 km)! After smashing this target in the first 2 weeks they just kept going, and in total our team took 4,008,419 steps (3115km) for charity!
This same drive has carried through into industry recognition, with Cintra being shortlisted at the Reward Strategy Awards and also earning a place as a finalist at the CIPP Awards, reinforcing our commitment to both our people and our clients. Our culture has always been built around teamwork, community involvement and celebrating success, something reflected in stories such as our partnership with Sunderland AFC and other initiatives that bring colleagues and local communities together.
The Chronicle Sunshine Fund provides specialist equipment to children with disabilities, special needs and terminal illnesses and we are so proud to support such a great organisation. The huge success of our challenge meant that a total of £1,000 was raised and we would like to give a massive round of applause to all those that took part and donated. This continues a long tradition of community support, including when PSSG donated £4,500 to nine local sports clubs and other charitable initiatives across the region.
Watch this space for our next fundraising challenge, and here’s to the next 40 years at Cintra!
